Satellite TV Receiver Setup Guide
Setting up your satellite system isn’t so difficult. In order to install your dish, you only have to program the little black box called the satellite receiver. Setting up the satellite receiver is not that difficult too. Read on to get this Satellite TV Receiver Setup Guide and get the hang of it…
Steps To Follow
1. Since your dish has been already installed, and the receiver has been already connected, you now can turn your television set on. You’ll see a ‘Point Dish/ Signal strength Setup on the screen, which will test the reception from your satellite.
2. Choose the ‘check switch’ option and you’ll get a new screen. Choose ‘check’ or ‘test’ and you’ll get a message that your system check is in progress. When the test has been completed an ‘Installation Summary’ will appear on your screen that will show reception details for two satellites, 110 West and 119 West. Transponders show ‘All’ and another message ‘Satellite Reception Verified’ in the status area.
3. When you look at your ‘Point Dish/ Signal Screen’, you’ll have to check your 110 west listing and 119 west listing to see if there is good signal from both. If not the dish has to be positioned in such a way that both receive good signal. Once the signals are strong you are ready to download the software. Exit ‘Point Dish/ Signal Strength’ and let your system download without any interruption.
4. Once the downloading has been done without any interruptions, you now have to order your programming. DISH network subscribers can press the ‘SYS INFO’ button on the receiver. When this has been done ‘Important System Information’ will appear on your screen, which will include a number of serial numbers and software versions. The rest will be done by the DISH network customer service.
5. When this has been done you can go through the programs
and also preview channels by using the program guide. To have access to this program guide, you only need to press the ‘Guide’ button on your remote. After this, get hold of a can of coke and some popcorn and enjoy quality time with your television!!
